MESSAGE FROM THE CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Movements in art and society are always a reaction to a reaction, of a reaction. And now, in the 21st century, we seem to be having concurrent reactions evolving simultaneously, through an infinite circle of multimedia communication channels, creating the largest quantity and availability of all types of art that the globe has ever seen. This is a good thing, because art, in all forms, should be available to all people. However, increased quantity and the widespread accessibility of technology that is being used to create art, results in inevitable gaps in quality. After all, it only takes user-friendly computer application software for even the most amateur and un-trained eye to create art that appears professional.
My vision for 21st century art is a reaction to these gaps in quality, a movement built on the principle that craft, meaning, and the broadening of perception of the human experience are the qualities that are exhibited in truly valuable art. I hope that through facilitating artists’ endeavors to share their works with the world, and by providing education on how to experience art to the public, our organization will contribute to this idea. Our ultimate goal at Compositum Musicae Novae is to give as many people as we possibly can the opportunity to enrich their lives through the enjoyment and better understanding of art, which in turn will better the understanding they have of themselves and the human experience.
